Arizona Heart Institute and Hospital will test a new type of medical procedure
Arizona: Researchers at the Phoenix-based Arizona Heart Institute and Hospital will test a new type of medical procedure for individuals with damaged hearts that uses a “high-tech catheter” to transplant muscle cells from patients’ thighs to their hearts. The hospital will perform the procedure on 24 patients; officials hope to discharge patients within 24 hours of the procedure (Galehouse, Arizona Republic, 9/23).
