Jostra Acquires Munich Medical Engineering Firm
The Baden-Württemberg company Jostra AG acquired the firm of consulting engineers Heinze from Eresing near Munich and, as Jostra Medical Engineering Center (JMEC), has integrated it into the structures of the Jostra Group. Jostra is market-leader in the manufacture of medical technology for the area of heart surgery.
The engineering firm Heinze was founded in 1986. It has been developing medical technology equipment jointly with engineers from Jostra AG since 1988. The work of the 16 members of staff focuses on the area of heart-lung machines as well as lung volume measurement, patient monitoring and the recording and analysis of operation data.
The purpose of the new Jostra Medical Engineering Center is to bring together the company’s activities for system development of heart-lung machines. The array of services ranges from design and planning to compiling software specifications, risk analysis as well as hardware and software development. The production of prototypes also falls within the area of responsibility of JMEC, as well as production staff training or carrying out tests and the development of documentation for all national and international licenses.
“By acquiring the engineering firm Heinze and integrating it into the Jostra group of companies, we are pooling our entire know-how and speeding up processes from product development through to production and hence to our customers. This enables us to optimize our service facilities further and respond faster and more reliably to the demands of the market”, according to Jostra CEO Christian Palme.
Jostra AG was founded in December 1982 by the current Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Lars Sunnanväder. The company’s headquarters are in Hirrlingen near Tübingen.
