What students say about our program
“I am beyond grateful to have been chosen for the Sanibel internship, as a student, this was a fantastic opportunity. I was given the chance to work with Epic as part of my internship while others worked directly with vendors, and I really enjoyed getting to know everyone. It's a nice way to spend a weekend away from school yet still within a “perfusion environment”, essentially giving me a taste of what I could be involved in upon graduation when I start attending conferences more often. I got to meet a lot of people, all of which were so kind. It was also interesting to hear everyone's take on the new perfusion equipment, as well as listening in on the presentations each day.”
Lorena A., Clinical Perfusion Student, Rush University
"Having the opportunity to participate as an Epic Intern at the Sanibel conference this past year was an incredibly positive and rewarding experience for me. From learning more about the field of Perfusion during the many educational sessions and breakout seminars to connecting with a wide variety of professionals in the industry, I gained an incredible amount of experience and knowledge in such a short time at the conference. I recommend any student looking to get more involved in their future profession to seek out and apply for this opportunity! Working with the kind-hearted and incredibly generous Epic Staff, and meeting perfusion students from around the country, were my highlights of this experience!"
Megan C., Clinical Perfusion Student, UNMC
“To say the experience as an intern at the Sanibel Symposium was valuable would be an understatement. The connections you make at the conferences and the education you get from the presentations is second to none. On top of that, you get to spend time in Florida with a bunch of your future colleagues. I would highly recommend doing this internship if the opportunity allows!”
Logan H., Perfusion Assistant, Perfusion Solution Inc.
“Being a Sanibel Intern was an invaluable experience that allowed me to further explore the innovative technology of the perfusion world. During this internship, I not only made great friends with perfusion students from different programs, but I also developed professional relationships with many experienced perfusionists which resulted in various job opportunities.”
Kaitlyn B., Clinical Perfusion Student, The Texas Heart Institute
"Being selected as an intern at the Sanibel symposium was an enriching and insightful experience, particularly coming from Ireland. I had the opportunity to meet the leaders in the field of perfusion, learn about new international trends in perfusion practice and make friendships for life. This was the most memorable part of my training as a perfusionist and I would highly suggest you apply to be in for a chance to experience it for yourself."
-Luke M., Dublin, Ireland
"Attending the Sanibel Symposium while working with Epic Cardiovascular was a once in a lifetime experience. Everyone in attendance was so receptive and eager to speak with the students in attendance, and I was able to network with practicing perfusionists around the world. The lectures were informative and very engaging, and the information presented was fascinating. It was incredible to be able to apply what I had been learning during my didactic year in perfusion school to different novel concepts in the field - it really took everything to the next level!"
-Lacy O., Perfusion Student
