Jeff Riley Scholarship
An internationally renowned cardiovascular educator, expert clinician, perfusion pioneer, consultant and editor.
Jeff managed many clinical teams and directed perfusion technology educational programs at several major academic healthcare centers across the nation. Jeff was an award-winning author with over 100 peer review publications focusing on quality management, perfusion education, simulation, blood management, and conducted original clinical research in extracorporeal circulation technology. Jeff graduated from the first formal perfusion program “The Ohio State” as he would say, and gave back to the perfusion profession through his leadership roles in national organizations and devoted education to hundreds of Perfusionist, nurses, lab technicians, physicians and corporations around the globe. When you define the word Perfusionist or Extracorporeal Circulation you define Jeffrey Brock Riley, a humble giant in our profession. Every practicing Perfusionist in the field has been touched in some way from the clinical studies of this great man. Professor Jeff, as many would call him truly made our profession a better place due to his remarkable scientific contributions and leadership. So, this Jeffrey Brock Riley Scholarship Award is your first step in contributing to your profession, your craft, and your fellow Perfusionist. Every student participant who sends in a abstract, who stands on the Sanibel Symposium podium would be a winner in Jeff’s eyes. Therefore, congratulations to all!
