Preoperative ECMO and Plasmapheresis for Urgent Pulmonary Endarterectomy in HIT Positive Patient
Pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) is the treatment of choice for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). This case report outlines the importance of veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and plasmapheresis as two important options in the management of HIT positive patients requiring urgent PEA.
