The Effect of Platelet-rich Plasma on Wounds of OLETF Rats Using Expression of Matrix Metalloproteinase-2 and -9 mRNA
Complicated diabetic patients show impaired, delayed wound healing caused by multiple factors. A study on wound healing showed that platelet-rich plasma (PRP) was effective in normal tissue regeneration. Nonetheless, there is no evidence that when plateletrich plasma is applied to diabetic wounds, it normalizes the diabetic wound healing process. In this study, we have analyzed matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-2, MMP-9 expression to investigate the effect of PRP on diabetic wounds.
Use of Laboratory Testing for Prediction of Postoperative Bleeding Volume in Cardiovascular Surgery
These results suggest that several clinical and routine laboratory parameters of coagulation were individually associated with bleeding volume during cardiovascular surgery. Determining the patterns of coagulopathy may potentially help guide transfusion during cardiovascular surgery.
Association Between Lactates, Blood Glucose, and Systemic Oxygen Delivery in Children After Cardiopulmonary Bypass
In children after cardiopulmonary bypass, lactates are not correlated with higher oxygen extraction, but are correlated with hyperglycemia, at both 4 and 12 h after PICU admission. Future research is warranted to better define this relationship.
