I have been in contact with Dr. Novick, and Brian Forsberg LP, CCP, MPH, for almost the entire tenure of the Circuit Surfers blog. I am impressed that our approaches and goals are so similarly tuned, and have always believed in what they (and this blog) stand for.

Novick Cardiac Alliance is happy to announce our return to building pediatric open heart programs in Iraq!
We are in need of Pediatric Perfusionists for the following trips in 2017:
Basra, Iraq January 28th – February 11th
Karbala, Iraq March 18th – April 1st
Basra, iraq April 15 – April 29th
Basra is a city I have visited many times and has direct flights from Istanbul Ataturk Airport (IST). It is right on the Shatt-Al-Arab waterway and is the Southernmost city in Iraq, downstream from the Persian Gulf. It has modern OR’s and utilize the S5 and 3T Perfusion Equipment. A great trip to take in Winter as the average temp is around 80 degrees. Fresh fish and the best chai in Iraq await you in Basra, as well as many children needing heart surgery.
We also have an Inaugural trip to Karbala, Iraq. Karbala is 100KM West of Baghdad. More info is available as we get closer to the trip.
