Jostra is Acquired by Swedish Group Getinge AB

On July 1st 2003, the acquisition of Jostra AG by the Swedish group Getinge was finalized.

Jostra will be included in the business area “Surgical Systems”. “Extended Care” and “Infection Control” are the other areas of business in which Getinge is active with its 5.600 employees. For more information about Getinge please consult www.getinge.com.

Getinge has acquired Jostra AG with all its non-US subsidiaries, but including the production plants for Jostra and Polystan disposables in Hechingen, Germany, and Vaerlose, Denmark. The Swedish hardware division, Lund, producing Jostra heart-lung machines and heater-cooler units has also been acquired.

The former U.S. Jostra companies in Texas and Puerto Rico have not been included in the acquisition and no longer belong to the Jostra group. They will therefore be renamed shortly. The Texas company will remain the distributor for Jostra products in the US.

Jostra will continue to focus on development, production, and distribution of innovative products for perfusion. This will include heart-lung machines, oxygenators, cannulae, custom tubing packs, and products for other applications in the cardiac surgery field.
