The Medical University of South Carolina’s Update on Perfusion Devices Workshop will be held October 24-26. This is MUSC’s fifteenth consecutive year hosting the conference in downtown Charleston, SC. This year the conference is offering 21.6 CEUs. This conference is the perfect opportunity for the practicing perfusionist to get exposure to the newest technologies available in perfusion.
The weekend will kick off with a keynote address and dinner on Thursday evening, followed by presentations on Friday and Saturday by the top manufacturers of perfusion devices in the nation. Hands-on demonstrations will accompany the presentations. Attendees will also get the chance to operate the newest devices themselves: simulation stations will be available so that perfusionists to operate pumps and ancillary equipment in simulated OR environments.
Lunch will be provided on Friday and Saturday. On Friday evening, the Embassy Suites Hotel will host a cocktail reception for all attendees, where perfusionists and manufacturers can mingle in a relaxed environment over cocktails and discuss the day’s presentations. Afterward, we hope you enjoy the rest of the evening in one of Charleston’s fine dining establishments downtown, just a short walk from Embassy Suites, and take advantage of all that the downtown nightlife has to offer. Attendees will also have time to sight see or shop downtown after the conference on Saturday, or in between the afternoon and evening events.

Embassy Suites is not only conveniently located on beautiful Marion Square, but is also an important historical landmark. The hotel is the original site of the Citadel Military Academy. The guest rooms were barracks for the Citadel cadets in the 1800s (but don’t worry, they have been remodeled to the highest standards of comfort and have all the modern amenities one could wish for!).
