Complete Aortic Thrombosis in SARS-Cov-2 Infection

A 74-year-old man with a history of diabetes mellitus, coronary artery disease, and previous myocardial infarction presents to the emergency department with cardiogenic shock. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency care were performed.

Three-dimensional computed tomographic (CT) angiography revealed the complete thrombotic occlusion of the aorta, arising from the descending aorta and including all the visceral arteries, celiac trunk, superior mesenteric artery, and left and right renal arteries. COVID-19 infection due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus has shown to be associated with a hypercoagulable state.
