Heparinized Cardiopulmonary Bypass Circuits and Low Systemic Anticoagulation: An Analysis of Nearly 6000 Patients Undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting
Heparin coating of cardiopulmonary bypass circuits reduces the inflammatory response and increases the thromboresistance during extracorporeal circulation. These properties enables a lower systemic heparin dose, which has been shown to reduce the need for blood transfusions. Experience with this technique accumulated over 11 years has been analyzed.
Factors Influencing Blood Transfusion Requirements in Robotic Totally Endoscopic Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting on the Arrested Heart
We investigated factors associated with transfusion requirements in totally endoscopic coronary artery bypass on the arrested heart (AH-TECAB).
Venous Obstruction and Cerebral Perfusion During Experimental Cardiopulmonary Bypass
To investigate the effects on cerebral perfusion by experimental venous congestion of the superior vena cava (SVC) during bicaval cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) at 34 degrees C, pigs were subjected to SVC obstruction at levels of 75%, 50%, 25% and 0% of baseline SVC flow at two arterial flow levels (low, LQ, high, HQ).
A Prospective Observational Study to Compare Conventional Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting Surgery with Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting on Basis of EuroSCORE
The aim of this prospective observational study was to compare the mortality and morbidity between OPCAB and conventional CABG in three major preoperative groups as assessed by EuroSCORE.
