Well, my family has been on vacation for the last two weeks, and I have been working the entire time- either doing hearts / clinical, or managing our STS database. So today, as I wait for them to fly home- just wanted to step back and forget about sick hearts, and think about the great things we all have to live for.

In heparin-spiked blood, ACT is sensitive to heparin at levels of ≥0.1 IU/ml heparin. In ICU-patients, ACT did not correlate with UFH dose or other established methods. Both systems were differently influenced by certain parameters.
