Dideco 903 Avant Has Been Updated With Cardiotomy Bypass Ports
Dear Avant Customer:
We are pleased to inform you of recent improvements we have made to the Dideco D903 Avant. In response to many requests, a second cardiotomy bypass port has been added. Two Y adaptors (2×1/4” and luer lock each) are included in the convenience kit to be connected to the cardiotomy bypass ports during set up. This modification will enable the use of suction blood management in each and every operative set up. With this change the D 903 Avant now has 4 x ¼” and two luer lock ports for direct, non filtered access to the defoaming section of the venous reservoir. As presented on the following pages, now you can easily separate suction blood from the surgical site from the less activated blood coming from other sources such as left vent, arterial filter purging line, or aortic root. Also, a clip has been developed for locking the reservoir connection key in the open position when desired, such as during post operative chest drainage. This is available in the convenience kit as well.

In CABG procedures the arterial filter purging line, vent and/or aortic root sucker can be connected to a Y-connector [h], then returned to the venous reservoir. The filtered cardiotomy is then used only for suction blood from operating field, which is selectively sequestered.

To add fluids to the venous reservoir, the quick priming line [i] can be moved to the new pos-lock cardiotomy bypass port.
