Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics Releases Tygon® ECMO: The Long-Life Tubing for Life-Saving Applications

PORTAGE, WI – Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics (SGPPL) steps ahead of the rest by offering TYGON® ECMO, non-DEHP tubing, designed for critical and demanding medical applications. TYGON® ECMO combines the one the most trusted names in tubing, TYGON® with a new, purely superior product, without the use of DEHP.

This revolutionary new tubing offers excellent resistance to chemicals and offers an improved pump life over its predecessor TYGON S-65 HL, prompting less changeovers of peristaltic pump tubing, saving users time and money. Made from a biocompatible polymer material, TYGON® ECMO is ideal for contact with blood, and withstands both EtO and Gamma sterilization. TYGON® ECMO is specifically designed for the demanding conditions of Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenations procedures and performs exceptionally well for kidney dialysis pumps, numerous other peristaltic pump applications and for blood and IV solutions.

TYGON® ECMO has undergone rigorous testing to assure low spallation during use with peristaltic pumps and boasts FDA and USP Class VI compliance. SGPPL’s innovative new tubing is being fully tested to ISO10993 Standards to facilitate the validation process. TYGON® ECMO was found to be non-pyrogenic and non-toxic in Systemic Toxicity, Intracutaneous Reactivity, Cytotoxicity, Hemocompatibility and Intramuscular Implant testing.

TYGON® ECMO is being introduced with the knowledge that the right tubing can be vital to the most critical applications like ECMO and dialysis. TYGON® ECMO is the highest quality and most consistent tubing on the market, and is leading the way with the only non-DEHP tubing available for ECMO procedures. SGPPL has a long history of pioneering innovative products of the highest quality to meet the most demanding applications.
