EMPLOYMENT TIMELINE
When is it too early to start looking for a job? When is it too late? Our experience with students has shown that they have more questions than answers in this area. The following is an example of a complete and successful perfusion employment search:
15 months prior to graduation; Start making decisions about where you would like to relocate. Try to come up with two options, a first and second choice. At least one should be in a heavily populated area.
12 months prior to graduation: Contact Rick Raley, (your employment advisor) to get the ball rolling on our end. Plan to spend a couple of days in your selected area knocking on doors. Be prepared to sell yourself and interview on the spot. Start your resume at this time.
9 months prior to graduation: Follow up on the new contacts you made on your 12 month visit. Finish your resume and absolutely saturate your geographic area with it.
6 months prior to graduation: Visit your area again. Knock on every door to which you sent a resume, and hand deliver them an updated copy. Again, Be prepared to sell yourself and interview on the spot. Follow up with Rick!
3-0 months prior to graduation: Time is getting critical! Continue to follow up everything and make yourself known.
Note: A person using a thorough employment search service, such as this one, should get employment prior to graduation. The people who wait and have no help formulating their search may have many more difficulties. Let our team help to have employment waiting for you upon graduation!
PERFMAIL
https://perfusion.com/perfusion/perfmail
Perfmail is an Internet mailing list on the topic of perfusion, for perfusionists, perfusion students and perfusion assistants. All active perfusionists, current perfusion students and perfusion assistants who can send and receive Internet E-mail are welcome to participate. How does it work? A mailing list is set up so any piece of Email which one member sends to the list is distributed to all the members. Recipients can then reply individually (to the sender), or collectively (to everybody on the list). Why use Perfmail? We all seek a greater understanding of the physiology and practice of perfusion technology. This network provides the opportunity for electronic communications to many others interested in this goal. Often it is seeking assistance on some problem or making an announcement of some new technique or an upcoming event. In short, electronic networking is a collaboration which revolutionizes problem solving. Join the Perfmail mailing list today, and we will keep you informed of sales, services, jobs and new additions to our website. You can join Perfmail by registering as a Perfusion.com member or by following the link above.
