The Significance of 20,000
20,000 is a big number. It comes up a lot in conversations, and inspires some sort of respect just because of it’s bigness. If you say something costs 20 g’s well the that will raise an eyebrow or two, or get you a Mafia contract if you happen to be in the company of said persuasion.
20,000 says HelllOOOO to the world, a coming out party of sorts. 30,000 is just a lower- to mid range salary, 40,000 the price of your car, home, or both (if you live in your car), and 50,000 is the next blog post I put up that will have a number in it’s title…
But in this case the number 20,000 relates to perfusion. Not the measure of daltons, or angstroms, nor micrometers, but the measure of these people- perfusionists in particular. The You & I’s.
20,000 is how many times that a perfusionist or someone related to our field of endeavor has decided to “click” on their bookmark or link to this site.

It demonstrates that there is a need for perfusionists to have a non-moderated voice. A free voice, and spontaneous voice. Not a 2-3 day old text message that is responded to whenever it’s finally released- to be given the time of day and the opportunity to be responded to. This is real time folks.
