ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Purpose of Position

The Program Director for the MS Cardiovascular Perfusion Program reports directly to the Dean of the College of Health and Human Services during the formative stages of the program and is entrusted with the leadership and managerial authority of the program. The Program Director is accountable for program administration, curricular leadership, management, mentorship, and oversight of program faculty and staff (including professional development and assignment of university and community service activities). Comprehensive Care Services is looking for a 9th full time staff perfusionist to join their growing program at Integris Health Systems in Oklahoma City. Experience perfusionists and new graduates are encouraged to apply. The account consists of 2 hospitals with 5 surgeons doing about 700 hearts and 300 ECMOs a year. These include CABG, Valves, TAVRs, Aortic Procedures, Heart & Lung Transplants, LVADs and ECMOs. Integris is a strong ECMO center where perfusion assists ECMO Coordinators and ECMO nurse specialist. There is no bed side ECMO sitting. The surgeons are amazing and very efficient. The cardiac teams are wonderful to work with and OKC offers a great work/life balance. Coastal Thoracic Surgical Associates in Wilmington, NC is seeking 2 American Board certified, NC licensed staff perfusionists to join our team. Our program has an all adult caseload with 450-475 cases performed each year. This will be the 3rd and 4th members of our team. REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

1. Maintains and operates the Sorin S5 heart lung machine for daily cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) procedures.

2. Maintains certification and licensure as indicated in specifications above. Maintains continuing education.

3. Maintains correct and precise charting on the appropriate record during an open heart procedure.

4. Maintains knowledge in the theory and use of circulatory assist devices, portable cardiopulmonary bypass, ECMO, VAD, and other related devices and procedures.

5. Maintains working knowledge of HIPEC procedure

6. Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular perfusion training program.
