Primary Responsibility: The Program Director for the Perfusion Sciences Program will provide leadership and vision in collaboration with the Lipscomb Health overall vision and strategy to prepare students to become cardiovascular perfusionists. The Program Director will also advance health care connections across the Nashville community and the nation. The Program Director could maintain their freedom and access to perform perfusion procedures to maintain certification.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
· Represent Lipscomb University and the Perfusion Sciences Program at national and international meetings when appropriate.
· Recruit the highest quality faculty and students, along with assisting in identifying and developing the financial resources needed to support these efforts.
· Provide institutional support for faculty efforts in research, scholarship, service, and creative activities.
· Promote leadership with a focus on academic excellence, diversity, and retention of high quality faculty, students, and staff.
· Effectively collaborates across College of Pharmacy and Health Science departments, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners thus fostering a positive learning environment.
· Oversee instructional methodology, curriculum design, program planning, and counseling for the Perfusion Sciences Program.
Education: M.S / Ph.D. Preferred (in an appropriate scientific area).
Experience: Two years of experience as an educator in an CAAHEP accredited perfusion education program.
Qualifications: Five years of professional experience as a cardiovascular perfusionist.
