Join our Pediatric ECMO program at Banner Children’s and be a part of our amazing team of professionals.  Our pediatric ECMO team supports neonatal and pediatric ECMO Patients. Our team consists of trained respiratory therapists and registered nurses.  The ECMO program is supported by 2 neonatal perfusionists. The pediatric ECMO team supports a growing pediatric cardiac program as well as a growing pediatric intensive care unit.

As the ECMO Navigator Oversees ECMO Program general operations in collaboration with ECMO Medical staff, Leadership, including, but not limited to, program coordination, quality monitoring, education, and competency validation.  Institutes and participates in quality and safety initiatives to identify problem areas and research concerns.  Develops solutions and ensures performance improvement initiatives are up to date and in compliance with ELSO guidelines and recommendations.  Plans, develops, implements, coordinates, evaluates, and administers the care provided to the ECMO patient.  Provides leadership to a multidisciplinary staff to ensure that all individuals are capitalizing on their strengths to meet the short- and long-term professional and program goals while supporting the mission and vision of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge and skills as typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in a biological science such as nursing, anatomy, biology chemistry, respiratory, etc. Requires three years clinical experience; at least two of those years in the clinical specialty area. As a perfusionist, you’ll be an important contributor to the nation’s largest and most advanced heart and lung transplant program. You will provide critical patient care as you support extracorporeal circulation and/or oxygenation, myocardial and/or organ protection and preservation, blood component and drug/fluid administration. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree with graduation from an accredited perfusion program
• ABCP and BCLS certification
• Experience with a variety of heart-lung machines, centrifugal pumps, IABP, implantable ventricular assist devices, intraoperative autotransfusion devices, blood saturation monitors, hemodynamic pressure transducers, ECMO, anticoagulation monitors, etc.
• Advanced knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry, including cardiac diseases, defects and congenital anomalies
• Knowledge of sterile and perfusion supplies, including extracorporeal oxygenators, tubing circuits, and cannulae for all patient populations
• Understanding of a variety of organ preservations
• Knowledge of blood products/components and plasma composition of the human body
• Exceptional communication, organizational, prioritizing and teaching skills
• Ability to learn and apply JCAHO, CDC, and AABB standards and protocols
• Knowledge of sterile techniques in the delivery of patient care
• Ability to work flexible hours as well as lift and move objects/equipment weighing up to 350 lbs.

Join Our Minneapolis, Minnesota Team!!

We perform approximately 275 total cases (25% are pump standby/off pump) per year that consist of mainly valves, CABG and TAVR with an occasional aortic case. No ECMO or VADS (ECMO initiation is extremely rare and is shipped out after initiation). This is a small team of 2.5 Perfusionists. 3 surgeon account who are very fast and efficient and extremely professional/nice (average pump time under 75 min-cases are usually out of the room by noon!)

This account employs perfusion assistants, who will cover the cell saver cases, IABP, and blood gases. The assistant also helps with pump set-up and aids in end of case tear down. All equipment is up to date (Sorin S5 pump w revolution and Inspire 8F oxygenator/Sorin Xtra cell savers/Cardioquip heater coolers) Great work/life balance. Call is 50%, with a 30 minute response time. Located in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, you are close to all the outdoor activities one could wish for. Minneapolis is near if you wish to take advantage of all the city has to offer (all professional sports teams, the arts and a wide variety dining options)

In Ocala, you’re never more than a couple of hours from all of Florida’s biggest attractions. Want to spend the day at the beach? Daytona is only about an hour and a half away. You can get to Orlando to hang out at Universal Studios, Disney World, Sea World and more in the same amount of time.  Maybe boating on the river is more your thing – Crystal River is a popular spot for that and it’s an hour away. You only have to drive 45 minutes to go see big-time college football at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Big cities of Tampa and Jacksonville are only 2 hours away. You’d be hard-pressed to find a location anywhere in the country that’s so centrally located to all of its state attractions. This is an exciting time to be joining our team in Detroit as the cardiac program is seeing growth and innovations.  We are looking to add two new perfusionists to our already 5 perfusionist team.  We perform approximately 450 open heart cases per year in two facilities, supporting 4 surgeons. Cases include CABG, combo CABG Valves, Valves, TAVR, Angiovac and DHCA.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on Call; must live within 30 minutes from the hospital.
  • New graduate perfusionists must have received certification as a certified clinical perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion within 3 consecutive attempts following Associate’s first eligible exam, or within 2 years of the Associate’s date of hire, whichever comes first.

Now under a new management structure!  We are creating two teams to cover four private hospitals!

 

SpecialtyCare perfusionists have been providing clinical care at these institutions for over 30 years.  We have a thriving program that includes experienced perfusionists, excellent physicians and work/life balance.

We do all adult cardiac surgery procedures, except transplants. We are involved with TAVR and several hybrid procedures where we partner with cardiology and EP. We also have a growing VAD and ECMO program which includes a team of ECMO specialists who manage these patients on a day to day basis.

We welcome both experienced perfusionists and new graduate clinicians to join our team to enjoy the benefits of working with our awesome group. We provide a float perfusionist at each hospital, which makes it an ideal location for new-grads to be trained and mentored.

Richmond, VA is a hidden gem in the South. Lying on the banks of the James River, Richmond offers a multitude of activities and amenities. For the outdoor enthusiast there’s hiking, fishing, biking, hunting, and kayaking, as well as many trails and nature areas. For the history buff, there are many historical sites and park areas as well as some amazing museums. If you enjoy food and beverage, Richmond has grown over the past 10 years into a foodie hub with many new restaurants and craft beer establishments.

The area is also known for excellent school districts and as a great place to raise a family. In a broader scope, Virginia is home to some of the country’s best universities, the Shenandoah Mountains and the eastern shore. The mountains, the beach and Washington DC are all within a two hour drive from Richmond. There truly is something for everybody in the Richmond Metro Area.

We are seeking a new graduate or experienced Perfusionist to join our team in Evansville, IN.

 

We do all adult cases which consist of CABGS and valves and ECMO. No transplants or VADS. The team consists of 6-7 Perfusionists. Each team member pumps about 100 – 120 cases a year. This is a great opportunity with room for advancement, great team dynamics,

 

Evansville has a low cost of living with lots to do in a mild climate. Evansville has several notable educational institutions located within the city limits. Evansville is also home to several colleges and universities.  Evansville is a culturally rich and diverse city, with a little something to fulfill everyone’s needs and interests. There are several annual festivals held in the city throughout the year and several museums to visit. Evansville also offers a minor league baseball team and a professional ice hockey team in the ECHL. Visit the Mesker Park Zoo which is one of the oldest and largest zoos in the state of Indiana or The Casino Aztar, the first riverboat casino in the state of Indiana.

Join our Perfusion team in Visalia, CA. Kaweah Delta Medical Center’s dedication to cardiovascular health is everywhere in its Telemetry Department, Cardiac Surgery suites, Catheterization Labs, and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.

Program highlights:
Annual caseload approximately 275-300.
Cases include all types of adult cases, TAVRs, and ECMO
3 cardiac surgeons, 2 perfusionists, and a perfusion assistant on staff.
33.3% call when fully staffed at 3 perfusionists.

We are looking for a new graduate or experienced perfusionist to join our team in Bristol Tennessee!  You will join a 6 perfusion team, supporting 3 surgeons at Bristol Regional Medical Center and Holston Valley Medical Center when needed (3 perfusionists per hospital).  Each perfusionst pumps approximately 135 cases per year, to include Valves, CABGs, TAVRs and some ECMO.

Wonderful team and location, where work/life balance truly exists!  Experience mild, four-season weather and enjoy lots of outdoor activities.

 

Requirements

  • Holds current certification from American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or meets other Company requirements as a perfusionist.
