RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY

Provides clinical and product education to Healthcare Professionals on the full portfolio of LivaNova Cardiopulmonary products. Training sessions may be conducted in person or virtually and must align with all approved instructions for use.  These sessions include coordinating hospital clinical and non-clinical demonstrations, in-person and virtual education programs, intra-operative case coverage, supporting product evaluations and ad hoc training when needed.  The clinical specialist must both work independently within their role but remain highly collaborative with their team and company stakeholders (sales).  Therefore, the individual must be able to work independently, work as collaborator and manage internal stakeholders, as well as manage their own time effectively.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

  • Provides clinicians and medical staff clear clinical instructions to ensure continuity of education and support related to all aspects of patient outcomes, in accordance with the product’s Instructions for Use (IFU)
    Coordinates, directs, and delivers clinical training programs on LivaNova products, as necessary and appropriate.

Summary:
Rex CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) is hiring a Clinical Perfusionist to join their cardiac surgery program!

This is highly technical work involving providing circulatory support for patients undergoing open-heart surgery and long-term cardiac and pulmonary support, such as extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and ventricular assist through mechanical assistance. Teammates will work independently under the general supervision of the Chief Perfusionist.

Responsibilities:
1. Assists surgeons and anesthesiologists in the operating room during open-heart surgery to maintain all patient temperatures and pressures as directed by physicians.
2. Cleans equipment and has it serviced for any malfunctions observed.
3. Contributes to continuous quality improvement which focuses on customer satisfaction, outcomes, and cost
4. Provides patient and support staff training related to ancillary equipment.
5. Reviews patient’s history, physical and heart catheterization data prior to surgery to determine appropriate circuit required. Maintains the perfusion record during each case.
6. Sets-up, processes, and disposes of cell saver supplies as outlined in the perfusion manual for autotransfusion.

Bellin Health is in search of a highly qualified Perfusionist to become part of our team. The role involves delivering high-quality care and monitoring to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe environment for both patients and staff, guaranteeing the proper functioning of equipment, and keeping necessary equipment, supplies, and medications readily available. The Oklahoma Heart Hospital is seeking a Full-Time staff Perfusionist. We provide cardiac services for two campuses in the Oklahoma City area. Our caseload, performed by five Cardiothoracic surgeons, consists of CABGS, OPCABS, valve procedures and aortic procedures. We also provide in-house standby for various select procedures. Our caseload averages approximately 1250 surgical procedures with and additional 250+ standby cases annually.

 

The ideal candidate for this position must be reliable, a strong team player, have a great attitude and work ethic and must be confident to operate independently. We prefer a candidate that is ABCP certified with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. An Oklahoma License is also required.

 

The OHH Perfusionist conducts clinical perfusion and ensures the safe management of physiologic functions by monitoring the necessary parameters during cardiopulmonary bypass, administer blood products, anesthetic agents or drugs through the perfusion circuit under the supervision of a surgeon or cardiac anesthesiologist. Be available (on Hospital premises) for follow-up care until released by the primary surgeon or treating physician. Perform the initial set up and timing of an intra-aortic balloon pump.

The staff perfusionist is responsible for all aspects of perfusion services provided by the Cardiovascular Surgery program of Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute.
