Summary:

A combined sales and clinical manager role. A clinically reputable individual whose primary responsibilities are to sell Quest Cardiovascular products and manage the sales process through technical presentations, customer training, clinical support, and relationship building.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain awareness of all cardiac surgery centers, caseloads, cardiac surgeons and perfusionists within assigned territory. Create and maintain quarterly business containing target accounts and planned dates for activities of sales process.
  • Coordinate, schedule and monitor clinical support activities. Record, summarize and report product use data obtained during the clinical evaluation and collate data into a presentation to facilitate the sale at each account.
  • Develop, implement and refine product-training programs to ensure maximum effectiveness of product use training.

  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of product use characteristics. Troubleshoot and help resolve product use issues.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with the sales team to continuously improve the sales process.
  • Individually, be responsible for the entire sales and training process from initial introduction of product through to administration approval.
  • Identify new applications and product development opportunities.
  • Encourage customer clinical research, presentations and publications, and maintain a good working knowledge of current clinical research related to products.
  • Articulate presentations for live or video communications platforms.
    Willingness and desire to travel. Ability to travel 75% of work time.
  • Must attend 90% of a scheduled sales meeting.

Qualifications:

  • Strong drive and desire to succeed and opportunistic mentality toward selling.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, Masters or advanced degree a significant plus.
  • Five years cardiovascular clinical and/or biomedical engineering or equivalent clinical sales experience.

Summary:

The Clinical Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Territory Sales Manager, leading clinical evaluations & trials, in addition to collecting, analyzing & presenting data. Responsibilities will also include giving clinical presentations at professional meetings, cardiothoracic residency/fellowship programs and perfusion schools. The Clinical Specialist will assist the Territory Sales Manager selling, promoting and providing strategic account management of all of Quest’s products. These sales will drive revenue growth in the defined geographic territory by new account development and the expansion of existing accounts, to meet sales quotas based on the company’s sales goals. The Clinical Specialist will report to the Director of MPS Clinical Sales.

  • Determine the needs (e.g., product and pricing), goals, product usage, and types of cases handled by specific customers by meeting with and asking in-depth questions of physicians and other hospital personnel to learn which Quest products can best address their specific needs.
  • Develop relationships with hospital personnel (e.g. through casual conversation, meetings, participation in conferences) to make new contacts in other departments within hospital and to identify key purchasing decision makers in order to facilitate future sales.
  • Educate customers on the merits and proper clinical usage of company products by giving presentations and demonstrations using a wide variety of formats and platforms (e.g., slides, transparencies, manuals) to secure purchasing commitments, often with the help of incentive programs and services made available to the account being developed.
  • Observe actual procedures in the operating room of hospital accounts to gain insight into the specific nuances of each physician & perfusionist for a successful evaluation.

Qualifications:

  • CCP preferred. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent medical device experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years medical device experience and clinical support of mechanical circulatory systems.
  • Demonstrated record of clinical expertise.
  • Solid understanding of specified functional area, and application of business concepts, procedures and practices.
  • Capable of managing time and resources within the assigned territory in conjunction with near-term plans to ensure the territory’s objectives are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital credentialing systems, governmental regulations and maintaining honesty, integrity and excellent work ethics.
  • Be able to enhance teamwork within the region and maintain a collaborative relationship with all levels of the organization.

Job Summary

Performs extra-corporeal circulation using heart-lung machines and ancillary related devices for medical and surgical support. Performs extracorporeal circulation using heart-lung machines during various cardiac surgeries to allow cardiac surgeons to focus on performing procedures. Performs cardio-pulmonary perfusions in various cardiac surgeries to ensure patients’ circulatory and respiratory needs are met. Operates heart-lung machines and other relevant equipment for cardio-pulmonary perfusion. Monitors, calibrates and maintains devices according to relevant standards. Monitors a spectrum of physiologic parameters and copes with emergency situations during cardio-pulmonary perfusion procedures. Adheres to quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure accurate and safe practices in cardiopulmonary perfusion. Operation of blood salvage and blood hemoconcentration devices (Cell Saver/Hemoconcentrator).

In addition, the clinical perfusionist often functions in supportive roles for other medical specialties. Manages HIPEC pumping and heating systems for general surgical chemotherapy treatments. Also, involved in the setup, priming, initiation, and trouble-shooting of ECMO for cardiac and/or pulmonary support of patients outside of the operation room environment.
