Mercy Hospital South, formerly St. Anthony’s Medical Center of St. Louis, Missouri, is currently advertising for an experienced or new graduate-board eligible Clinical Perfusionist to come join our well established and seasoned cardiovascular surgery program. Attending to approximately 350-400 cases per year including, but not limited to, CABG, structural heart and TAVr procedures, aortic dissections, angiovac procedures, minimal ECMO and Impella, and occasional cell salvage procedures, a staff of 3 Perfusionists join together to share responsibilities of this program guided by the Executive Director of the Heart & Vascular Institute.

Working with 2 advanced CV surgeons and 4 progressive anesthesiologists, the Mercy South Perfusionist will entertain a strong work ethic for blood conservation and a desire to provide top ranked outcomes for CV patients. We entertain less than 15% transfusion rates for all patients including the full hospital stay, and over 80% of our patients are extubated before exiting the CVOR suite.
Mercy Hospital South has received multiple ‘A’ safety grades with the Leapfrog Group, in addition to being recognized as a 3-star STS for CABG outcomes since the spring of 2018. We are a Level 1 Stroke center, a Level 2 Trauma center, and have obtained multiple Gold/High Performing rating for Heart Failure with U.S. News and World Report. Additional Job Description
Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Licensure: Must hold a license as a Licensed Clinical Perfusionist (LCP) in the applicable state of practice.
Experience: New graduate perfusionist acceptable. Some experience preferred.
Certifications: Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) required. ABCP certified or eligible.
Provisional licensure is accepted for new graduates. LCP and CCP must be obtained within 1 year of employment date.
